A place to relax and soothe your tired eyes

Working with jewelry puts a lot of strain on my eyes, 
so I try to relax and not use my eyes as much as
 possible at week end.

Avoid looking at computer or mobile phone

My boom these days is a small trip to visit 
the suburbs of Bangkok. 
I will spend about half a day on my day off
 walking and exploring the area that can be
 moved by BTS etc not to drive a car.

The other day, I walked through the area 
adjacent to the Chulalongkorn University, which is
located between the BTS National Stadium station
and the subway Sam Yan station.

There were many unexpected discoveries, 
and it was a pleasant walking trip to feel the fresh air 
of the student town for the first time 
in a long time in living in a close area .

Especially this dome surprised me.

Even though I could see it from my apartment, 
I always wondered where and what it was.

I started from the back of the National Stadium 
and came across it by chance while walking.

FAAMAI is a place adjacent to Chulalongkorn University.


There was a flea market on the tree-lined street
 leading from Suan Luang Square to the Chula park, 
and there were a variety of stalls selling everything 
from second-hand clothes to handicrafts to food stalls. .

Surrounding buildings are very traditional but stylish.

Modern Chinese style? Modern oriental style buildings began to line up.

A Chinese shrine -style building suddenly appears.

As you go up the stairs, modern Chinese style buildings appeared on the left and right.
On top of the stairs , there is a huge oriantal temple like roof.

It's called Dragon Town.

I just saw a cafe with a great atmosphere, but it seemed that no customer was in it.

I am very attracted to the design where the buildings are arranged in a complicated manner so to speak oriental fusion style I guess.

However, the shops inside are sparse, and even though 
it's Sunday, there are hardly any people walking around.

I couldn't help myself to imagine that our showroom Sheen and workshop would move to this quiet town.  The atmosphere is so good that it makes you think that way.

but,

No one... no customers.

Shops were opened here and there, and each shop
 had a stylish atmosphere, but there was no flow of people.

As I walked through Dragon Town, the tree-lined road 
ended and became the entrance to the park.

A mall called I am Park. It's a complex and interesting building that you'll want to explore. There were many shops with a good open air atmosphere that made me think that I would like to come back to the cafe for earlier afternoon.


And when I went up the hill all the way, 
the scenery opened wider and I went out to the top of the hill.
 
The sight of a group of students chatting is very refreshing.
Even though there were a lot of people,
it was incredibly quiet, maybe because most people were student, 
there were no children running around, 
or because there were no alcohol drinking people .
No one was playing music, and the students were
talking quietly. . . oh how cool 
I felt that I wish I had time to talk with my peer university students at open area like this when I was student, however our university didn't have open space like this.
Instead,I remembered my studying abroad era talking with Chef T under the sunshine of California,
on the patch of grass behind the school building.

From here, I passed through Rama 4 Street and went shopping at Sam Yan's Mid Town.

Well, the new Jade ring that makes you feel the refreshing air of overflowing green is complete.

We use stones cut from fresh jade rough stones that seem to be high quality  for this type of design, and they are made with thick 24K gold plate over the silver 925 material so that they can be used casually.

March 10 2023 On a quiet Sunday afternoon, I went to  the opposite bank of the Chao Phraya River  to take a walk for exercising in an unknown place that was  close and easy to reach.  Take the BTS to  Krung Thonburi station, transfer to the monorail  and get off at Khlong San station,and   enter the narrow road beside the Bangkok bank  then head towards the river.  It was said that  there was a local market, but most of the stalls were  empty probably because of the covid 19 epidemic.   I kept walking closer to the river, I found a  warehouse-like building .  It is a simple black-painted  old building, Sign says" The Jam Factory" .   It may have been a warehouse in the past because  it is close to the pier.   I saw the light inside, so I entered. it is a gallery of well designed furniture and lighting.    There is a cafe and a bookstore in the back.   There were m...

Although it is a natural opal, black opal whose background color is darkened by smoke is sold in Bangkok, but there are various problems in its processing, and polishing craftsmen continue to be troubled to solve them. If you search the net, you will find only negative things, such as the natural play-of-color (play-of-color effect) disappears when you polish it, or it becomes dark like a cloud and cannot be repaired.
